The 3rd Eye chakra - Anjina 💜

The Third Eye Chakra - trusting your intuition

The third eye chakra- Anjina

The third eye chakra, or ajna chakra in Sanskrit, is known as “the seat of intuition.” Translations of the Sanskrit name include, “perceive,” “beyond wisdom,” and “command.” Located in the centre of the forehead, it is your centre of wisdom, conscience, and higher awareness. It is also associated with your intuition or your 'gut' feeling. How many times has someone said 'go with your gut feeling'? Our third eye chakra is about this!

The third eye is also about finding clarity - shutting out the 'noise' from the outside world, other people's judgements or opinions and focusing in on what your body and mind need.

When have enough energy and are balance in this channel we feel:

  • physical signs like tension in the brow area or forehead

  • Cognitive indicators of an unbalanced third eye chakra may include issues concentrating, restlessness and sleep disturbances

If our energy in the throat chakra off balance we may feel:

  • Feelings of self-doubt, worry, overthinking, close-mindedness, feeling lost, or relying on others for validation and permission.

  • A lack of concentration or difficulty finding your 'purpose'

  • A difficulty focusing in on the present and focused on the past or present

Affirmations for the 3rd eye chakra

  • I honour and trust my intuition.

  • My intuition is always guiding me

  • I have clarity and peace of mind.

  • I see the bigger picture and trust my inner wisdom

  • I am connected to my purpose

Ways to focus on the third eye chakra

  • Meditation draws in a sense of clarity and perspective. Simply sitting with your palms together and thumbs at the the centre of the third eye whilst breathing can help to do this!

  • Face yoga - massaging around the third eye, temples and forehead can help to release tension around here. Keep an eye open for a live video I am doing on this next Friday 25th March via Instagram!

  • Listen to a third eye meditation https://open.spotify.com/track/1uomsyaygBHLw0sKaHCwiS?si=f344133f26a84972

  • Chanting - Chanting the sound “Aum” or 'Om' . The mantra, or vibration, derives from Hinduism and is considered to have high spiritual and creative power.

I am currently reading 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle, which reflects and discusses about focusing in on the being more present, rather than focusing on the past of future worries.
