World Mental Health Day

Today has been World Mental Health Day.

Here are a few things you can do to help your mental health and well being this week:

💖 Connect with friends and family – good relationships are important for your mental wellbeing. Sometimes that means switching off from social media too. Why not pick a 'screen free' day this week and disconnect from the devices?

💖 Move the body - we know that physical activity can improve your mental wellbeing by raising your self-esteem, helping you to set goals and by causing chemical changes in your brain which help to positively change your mood. Come and join me for a yoga class online!

Relaxation Yoga is on Mondays 8-9pm and Wednesdays 7.30-8.30pm. Open to beginners and everyone welcome! £5 per session Pay As Yoga go. Book online at https://www.energiseyoga.co.uk/book-online

💖 Acts of kindness– acts of giving and kindness can help improve your mental wellbeing by creating positive feelings and help you connect with other people. Do one thing this week to be kind to someone and show them you care! Maybe that's calling, sending a card or arranging to catch up.

💖 Read and learn - broadening my understanding of mental and physical health through podcasts and books has helped me to understand more about my well being. Check out Feel Better, Live more at: https://open.spotify.com/show/6NyPQfcSR9nj0DPDr2ixrK

💖 Do not be afraid to ask for help, to speak up to talk about mental health. It's part of our overall wellbeing, there should be no stigma, no judgement attached.

We need to normalise mental health so it's part of our everyday.
